Cookie making workshop for the kids- Thank you Kosee! :-)

Last Sunday, we put together a fun-filled Cookie-making workshop for Kosee and her little girl, who was the birthday star!

Me Cookie Monstah! Nyom nyom nomnomnom

Introducing The Garden Slug’s spin on cookie-making.. We call this The Easiest Cookie Recipe in the Universe“  To make a large cookie, just mix together

  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 40 gram butter
  • 2 tablespoonful sugar
  • 1 tablespoonful Vanilla essence
  • pinch of baking powder
  • and 1 egg.

No sifting, so fussing over the “kneading “method.. Basically, just toss everything in a bowl, give it a good mixing with either a large spoon or just use clean hands.  Bake at gasmark no 7 for around 25 minutes, till it looks nice and light brown.

the retro tablecloth is compulsory for all cookie making workshopz

The kids having a fun time! They were all so earnest in trying to make a perfect cookie. I jokingly told them that they were like C.S.I , wearing gloves and all.. Except that they are Cookie-Scene investigators.  The kids looked at me blankly. Oops.. I don’t think they’ve started on primetime TV yet..haha..

Cookie-making Workshop! Wheeee!!

And now for the icing on the cake cookie ! We got some colourful edible icing pens for the kids to flex their creative muscles. After all the hardwork, they get to bring the cookie home and share it with the folks at home :-)

Smilez for teh kamerah

Happy Birthday ! :-)

The amazingly fiery sunset + rainbow..

Sunset at Siglap - Sophia Slug's place

This is way… delayed . .. Sometime in May on a warm evening, my intrepid housemate noticed that the sky was intensely orange.. So we rushed out of the house, she grabbed her fancy SLR cam and tripod. I just took my point&shoot digicam :-) These are the pics I snapped. **The photos are a little rain-specked as it was drizzling…

Rainbow at Siglap - Sophia Slug's place

The most amazing thing was that we discovered a rainbow just above the house.. Look at that sky, the exact shade of rose lambrusco.. You just wanna stick out your tongue and taste the delicious sky.

Sunset from the balcony

No spotted lens this time round as this shot is taken from my sheltered balcony. I felt so small against nature’s majestic backdrop. ..  It was a humbling moment. :-)
