I promised you the story behind The Garden Slug Pizza formerly known as The Green Goblin. A strange conversation took place at TGS one breezy evening:
Sharon: (while looking through the new pizza names) The Green Goblin??! (feigns shock and horror)
Sophia: Ya!!! I thought it sounds like a fun name!
Sharon: But he’s a bad guy!
Sophia: (deep in thought) Oh, I know, I know! How about “The Green Hornet“?
Sharon: Um… he’s not exactly very popular leh
Sophia: Oh! Oh! I know! How about “The Garden Gnome”? (eyes wide with genuine excitement)
Sharon: Well, if you must have the word “garden” in it, then why not call it The Garden Slug Pizza…
Sophia: Oh. Ya hor. Okay lor…
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Chris rolls his eyes and Joe sits outside playing with Laura.

Pic 1 Smoked Ham & Sweet Grapes Pizza - a twist to the ol’ Hawaiian.
Pic 2 The Garden Slug Pizza - originally named The Green Goblin. There’s a story behind this one, we’ll tell you later.
Pic 3 The Ultimate Fish Sandwich - we like to think of it as a “sexed up version of the Filet-O-Fish”.
Pic 4 The Garden Slug Mixed Grill - a daily special on our glass window in its previous life, it has now made it as a permanent item on our menu due to popular demand.
Just a handful out of 17 new items [including 8 different types of pizza!] we’ve introduced to our revamped menu this month.
We take your feedback very seriously, and we hope you like what we’ve invented and re-invented, just for you.
Check out the entire menu here online, or download it here [MS Word] and here [PDF].

Nope, we’ve not gone a-jet-setting.. ( a holiday would be fabulous though…. ) We were tasked by the folks from Citigold to create a thematic food and beverage event for their clients and Ta-Dah! Here’s what we did for them. Take a look at the pics below for the low-down on the menu items. Sharon slug & Joe slug, you’ve outdone yourselves again in the food styling~~ btw- I’m so relieved that my precious russian dolls came back alive, I was half expecting them to be drenched in soup. :-0

A passionate, young photographer named Dennis took some very nice shots of Joseph recently. And he sent us some more of his favourite Zesty Beef Salad and Old-fashioned Chicken Broth. And another one of a Cappuccino he had one evening. He makes our food look so glamorous. He calls his craft “fotocology”.
We’re in the talks with Dennis to hold an exhibition of his work at The Garden Slug soon. We love his work and we hope you will too. Watch this space

I created these little doodles for our bare walls some time in December 2006 when we first opened. ( Thank you Sharon+Joe for framing them!) Now that we’ve been open for more than 8 mths ( already? ) , it’s time to refresh our walls! If you’re keen to help us adorn our walls with your paintings, photos etc ( of the non-scandalous sort , hehe), email us! We’re more than happy to share our wall space with budding artists/ wannabe artists - and I’m sure they’re plenty of you out there .. Babymicrophone- we’re still waiting for your artsy pics , hint hint**

The slugs scored ourselves a deal with the fancy folks at citigold ( citibank’s premier banking arm), crafting food and beverages for their preferred clients. The order of the day was ” colourful and easy-to-eat food that will allow maximum mingling and encourage conversation” - *Roger that!* The good people from citigold were so happy with the food and presentation that we landed ourselves another cool event with them. Thank you for trusting us to take care of your valued clients!
