We had the privilege of hosting the Datuk and his staff from SA Tours for their department dinner- Thanks Ken and Dorothy for being so supportive !
We managed to comfortably host 45 guests at our humble li’l diner Woohoo!
The Garden Slug was decked out in colorful finery to welcome our guests.. Even the table tops were not spared! More photos from the party after this

Last week, we scored a deal to be the food and beverage supplier for the Moses Lim Fly-cruise club
Really nice guy in person – love his funky get up! Sharon Slug had to hold the fort while Joe and I were out smoozing with Moses and his guests – Thanks Sharon for taking care of the dining in garden slug guests !

This is my “Off day makan” – porridge and 2 cans of china fizzy apple !
Had a mighty good rest today, bought a couple of new CDs from Shaw Towers, for the shop – Tori Amos and Macy Gray… yay! It was a breezy and chilly day-nice! Took a nice after-dinner stroll with Sharon Slug along Jalan Jamal.

We’re gonna do ourselves a favour and close shop tomorrow (Tuesday, 9 Jan) and get some much needed rest.
Sophia is limping, Joe’s stiff neck hasn’t, um, un-stiffened, and my eyebags haven’t quite gone away.. then again, I suspect they’re quite the permanent kind.
We have a fourth Slug to help us out Thursdays to Sundays – introducing Elaine! We look forward to having Elaine around to keep everyone happy, and we hope that you will too.
Don’t ask us what she’s doing with that breadstick though…

[ thanks for the photo, Mandy ]

I was taking a breather at our outdoor tables, and Laura conveniently made herself at home on my lap. After this photo was taken, she licked herself all over and proceeded to take a gentle snooze for about 10 minutes (it seemed like an eternity).
I forgot I’m allergic to cats, and suffered for awhile after. Tragic. Sophia & Joe seemed to find this quite funny.

Yes, the recipe is indeed mine, but I can’t take credit for it. I learned it from Tanon Tangkoskul, my wonderful Thai foodie buddy, when we were studying at Otago, Dunedin. We had to cook our own food and we loved experimenting. Tanon always wanted to open his own eatery, but I guess I beat him to it
Mil, your answer is the closest. It was smart of you to just hazard “juice” as a guess… That means we won’t have to reveal what the secret juice is now… Hehehe
We sell at least five Zesty Beef Salads a day, using premium Australian Ribeye at your desired done-ness… we’re considering making it our signature dish. What do you think?
Mil’s next main meal is on us, as promised. Hope to see you guys again soon
